Nancy Shaver and T. Marie
Boxes, paper, paint, time-based drawing
Concourse B, first floor
Within the interior of what was a bustling airport news stand, Nancy Shaver constructed a sculptural environment that playfully recalled the stacks of products familiar to travelers. Arranged upon shelves, small, bright geometric forms occupied the spaces once held by best sellers, magazines, souvenirs, and the daily news. The bold black and white, subtly shifting patterns in T. Marie's time-based drawing appeared on a television monitor in a corner where travelers might once have viewed the latest in national news, advertisements and celebrity gossip.
